CAVE TRIP - Courtesy of ICELAND EXCURSIONS - GRAY LINE
This tour takes you to unique sights of Iceland´s most spectacular lava craters and caves. When we enter through the cave entrances we find they reveal extraordinary scenery of colours, natural stalactites and lava formations. This beautiful, natural phenomenon was created when the surface of lava flow hardened and the fluid lava continued to flow in tubes underneath the hardened surface. The caves become wide and high and in many places, the floor is quite even.
However, the trip can be quite difficult so bring good walking shoes/hiking boots suitable for coarse lava surface. Respect for nature and safety are our main concerns.
There are NO handrails, lights or any pre-installed tools in or around the caves. We rely totally on the equipment we carry and that people respect our guidelines.
This tour is suitable for all who can walk on coarse surface.
